Planet Mark, which measures and certifies our carbon footprint, has today announced a rebrand.
Formerly called The Planet Mark, the new brand has been simplified and modernised to reflect the organisation’s expanding reach and fulfil its aim to be the most easily recognised sign of progress in sustainability throughout the world. NuServe is one of over 800 organisations that have been certified by Planet Mark since it launched in 2013.
Our annual Planet Mark certification signifies that we are a forward-thinking businesses, driving continuous positive change through our actions, people and reach. As well as certifying our Net Zero emissions status, Planet Mark supports our sustainability initiatives with ideas and information, inspires our employees to play their part and helps us to communicate our progress.
The UN Emissions Gap Report states that in order to limit global warming to 1.5˚C, there needs to be a global reduction in greenhouse gas emissions of 7.6% every year between 2020 and 2030. Planet Mark certified businesses make an average 12% annual cut in absolute carbon emissions per year and a 16% carbon saving per employee per year through reductions in energy, waste, water, travel and procurement.
